Arctic Voyage
April 2007

The Lofoten Islands, Norway (68°N, above the arctic circle)
Å, the very small town (120 residents) that dries 700,000 cod every year

The drying cod:

the Hurtigruten, the Norwegian coastal "steamer" cruise ship - it even has two hottubs on the deck! We took it to Svolvaer:

Svolvaer, the main town where we stayed over Easter... nothin' going on...

Stamsund

Kabelvåg - before the snowstorm:
waiting out the snowstorm:

Henningsvaer: still waiting out the snowstorm

the snowstorm... still snowing...

Bodø, the starting and ending point of the journey

Abisko, Sweden
Skiing and Snowshoeing in the most expensive place EVER (at least it was pretty!)

We met my old friend Torsten

Out on the still-frozen lake, amongst the snowmobilers:

Typical Norwegian Architecture... doesn't look like much in the cities, but there are nice maritime buildings
(Bodø)

Is it a barn? A grain elevator? A church? A train station!
